Diagnosis and treatment of 34 cases of congenital tracheobronchial cartilage remnants of esophagus

Retrospective study of 34 infants with congenital tracheobronchial cartilage remnants causing esophageal obstruction, typically presenting with vomiting when solid foods are introduced. Surgical removal via longitudinal anterior esophagotomy with horizontal closure achieved excellent outcomes in 33/34 cases, with one complication from submucosal stripping approach.
