Conference proceeding from the annual meeting of the Canadian Association of Pediatric Surgeons: “Caring for indigenous children: A CAPS perspective”

CAPS 2019 conference session addressed structural barriers and healthcare disparities affecting Indigenous children in Canada following the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action. The discussion focused on pediatric surgery centers' responsibility to acknowledge and address systemic inequities that continue to produce negative health outcomes for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit families.
