Current Opinions and Practices of Bariatric Surgery in Adolescents: A Survey among Pediatric Surgeons

Survey of 108 pediatric surgeons across 33 countries reveals bariatric surgery for severely obese adolescents is legally permitted in most European nations but rarely performed, with limited insurance coverage. Two-thirds of respondents support its value for long-term weight loss, preferring collaborative care between pediatric and bariatric surgeons.
