The Thyroid Nodules in Kids study (ThyNK study): An evaluation of clinical practice variation

Retrospective analysis of 86 pediatric thyroid nodule cases found 17% malignancy rate with variable adherence to ATA guidelines. While most patients received appropriate workup and surgical management, practice variation persisted in 15-26% of cases due to complex presentations and surgeon judgment.
