Laparoscopic Gastrostomy Placement in Children Has Few Major, but Many Minor Early Complications

Retrospective study of 104 pediatric laparoscopic gastrostomy procedures shows 38% experienced minor complications (infection, granulation tissue, tube dislodgement) but only 7% required surgical intervention. Neurologically impaired patients had fewer complications, and operating times improved with experience.
