Increased protease activated receptors in the colon of patients with Hirschsprung's disease

Research study examining protease-activated receptor (PAR-1 and PAR-2) expression in Hirschsprung's disease patients reveals significantly elevated levels in both ganglionic and aganglionic bowel segments compared to controls. Findings suggest PAR dysregulation may contribute to Hirschsprung's-associated enterocolitis through effects on intestinal barrier function and motility.
