Multicenter study of 299 pediatric trauma patients (ages 10-17) found 82% received opioids within 48 hours of admission, with usage correlating to injury severity, age, and fracture presence. Notably, 61% of minor injury cases received opioids, suggesting opportunities for improved prescribing practices and opioid stewardship in pediatric trauma care.
