The Impact of Local Control in the Treatment of Children with Advanced Infantile and Adult-Type Fibrosarcoma: Experience of the Cooperative Weichteilsarkom Studiengruppe (CWS)

Multi-center analysis of 89 children with fibrosarcoma shows secondary complete resection improves survival in adult-type cases but not infantile forms. Infantile fibrosarcoma demonstrates excellent 98% 5-year survival with chemotherapy response rates of 71%, supporting organ-preservation approaches over aggressive primary surgery in young children.
