A novel technique to measure severity of pediatric pectus excavatum using white light scanning.

Study validates handheld white light scanning as a radiation-free alternative to CT for measuring pectus excavatum severity in children. The novel Hebal-Malas Index derived from optical scans showed strong correlation with traditional CT-based Haller Index (r=0.87), supporting its use for serial monitoring and surgical planning without repeated radiation exposure.
