Human breast milk exosomes attenuate intestinal damage

This preclinical study demonstrates that exosomes from both raw and pasteurized human breast milk equally reduce intestinal inflammation and mucosal injury in necrotizing enterocolitis models. The findings suggest pasteurization preserves the protective exosome function, supporting donor milk use when maternal milk is unavailable for preterm infants.
