Patch repair of congenital diaphragmatic hernia is not at risk of poor outcomes
Topic overview
This retrospective study of 203 CDH patients (2000-2016) found that patch repair, when performed using tension-free technique, does not increase risk of poor outcomes compared to primary repair. Despite higher preoperative ECMO use in patched cases, recurrence rates were comparable between groups.
