Approaches to the Management of Pediatric Ovarian Masses in the 21st Century: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Systematic review comparing laparoscopic versus open surgical approaches for pediatric ovarian masses found that laparoscopy offers shorter operative times and is increasingly preferred for benign lesions. Nonneoplastic cystic lesions are most common, while germ cell tumors predominate among neoplastic cases with malignancy rates of 3.5-10.8%.
