The Long Term Effects of Intrascrotal Low Dose and High Dose N-Acetylcysteine on Testis Damage in Rat Model of Testicular Torsion

This rat model study demonstrates that high-dose intrascrotal N-acetylcysteine (100 mg/kg) administered during detorsion significantly preserves testicular volume, height, and Sertoli cell counts compared to untreated torsion-detorsion. The findings suggest a potential protective role for local NAC therapy in mitigating ischemia-reperfusion injury during testicular torsion management.
