Novel Risk Score for Fetuses with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Based on Ultrasound Findings

This study developed and validated a prenatal ultrasound-based risk score for congenital diaphragmatic hernia using five factors: lung-to-head ratio <25%, liver herniation extent, stomach position, defect side, and associated malformations. The scoring system effectively stratified fetuses into low, intermediate, and high-risk groups with unsatisfactory outcome rates of 17%, 46%, and 100% respectively.
