Epidural versus PCA Pain Management after Pectus Excavatum Repair: A Multi-Institutional Prospective Randomized Trial

Multi-institutional randomized trial comparing thoracic epidural versus PCA for pain control after minimally invasive pectus excavatum repair found no difference in length of stay between groups. While epidural provided better pain control on postoperative day 0, 28% required supplemental PCA, and overall outcomes were equivalent.
