The change over time in the postoperative bowel function in male anorectal malformation patients who underwent sacroperineal anorectoplasty and sacroabdominoperineal anorectoplasty

Retrospective study of 52 male ARM patients who underwent SP-SAP procedures shows bowel function continuously improves until age 11, with over 91% achieving excellent or good outcomes. Constipation, incontinence, and soiling scores improved progressively, emphasizing the importance of long-term postoperative management in ARM patients.
