The Effect of Gastrostomy Placement on Health-Related Quality of Life in Children

This prospective study of 50 children undergoing laparoscopic gastrostomy placement found that while overall quality of life did not significantly improve at 3 months, psychosocial and social functioning scores increased meaningfully. Children with neurologic impairment had lower baseline and post-procedure quality of life scores.
