Capitonnage seems better in childhood pulmonary hydatid cyst surgery

This retrospective study of 136 pediatric patients compares cystotomy with capitonnage versus cystotomy alone for pulmonary hydatid cyst treatment. Capitonnage significantly reduced pneumothorax (13.2% vs 30%), emphysema, and persistent residual cavities (7.9% vs 23.3%), with no recurrence observed in the capitonnage group.
