Central venous catheter repair is highly successful in children with intestinal failure

Retrospective study of 36 pediatric intestinal failure patients demonstrated 98% success rate for central venous catheter repairs (94/96 repairs) with only 1% post-repair CLABSI incidence. Findings support catheter repair as preferred strategy to extend catheter lifespan and preserve limited vascular access in PN-dependent children.
