Antegrade Continence Enema Alone for the Management of Functional Constipation and Segmental Colonic Dysmotility (ACE-FC): A Pediatric Colorectal and Pelvic Learning Consortium Study

This multi-center study demonstrates that antegrade continence enema (ACE) is an effective standalone treatment for severe functional constipation with segmental colonic dysmotility at one-year follow-up. Patients without pelvic floor dyssynergia on manometry showed higher rates of subsequent colonic resection, suggesting anorectal manometry may help predict treatment trajectory.
