Congenital central hypoventilation syndrome and Hirschsprung disease: A retrospective review of the French National Registry Center on 33 cases

French registry study of 33 patients with both CCHS and Hirschsprung disease shows 57% mortality rate, higher in long-segment HD cases. Most patients had long-segment disease (80%) requiring complex management including tracheostomy (54%) and pull-through surgery (55%). Survivors demonstrate need for lifelong multidisciplinary respiratory and gastrointestinal follow-up.
