The presence of a hernia sac in isolated congenital diaphragmatic hernia is associated with less disease severity: A retrospective cohort study

Retrospective study of 71 isolated CDH patients found that presence of a hernia sac (19.7%) was associated with reduced disease severity markers including shorter ventilator duration, less inhaled nitric oxide use, and reduced vasoactive medication requirements, though 28-day mortality and oxygen dependency rates were similar between groups.
