Sclerotherapy for rectal prolapse in children: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Systematic review of 19 studies (1510 patients) demonstrates that injection sclerotherapy achieves 77% success rate after single treatment for pediatric rectal prolapse, with low complication rates (14%). Ethanol is the most commonly used agent, and this minimally invasive approach should be considered before surgical intervention.
