Long-term outcome of pediatric renal transplantation in boys with posterior urethral valves

Retrospective study comparing renal transplant outcomes in 27 boys with posterior urethral valves versus 30 non-uropathic controls over 7-10 years. Results show equivalent graft survival and function between groups, though PUV patients had higher UTI rates; vesicostomy was associated with better outcomes, suggesting minimal pre-transplant intervention is optimal.
