Creating and improving a mass casualty incident response plan for a pediatric trauma Center: Analysis of focus group interviews with pediatric level I trauma centers
Abstract
Mass Casualty Incidents (MCIs) challenge healthcare facilities and stress entire healthcare systems. Pediatric patients present specific challenges in MCIs, given their anatomic, physiologic, and psychosocial differences from adults. Optimizing patient outcomes requires preparation and stakeholder engagement to create and maintain plans that are clear, concise, and easy-to-follow.
