Trends in Mortality of Congenital Circulatory Malformations in the Pediatric Population: CDC Data Analysis (1999–2020)
Abstract
Congenital circulatory malformations (CCMs) represent one of the most prevalent categories of birth defects, constituting a significant cause of infant mortality and morbidity in developed nations, affecting 1 % global population). This condition remains a substantial contributor to pediatric mortality [1]. Improved diagnostic capabilities, innovative surgical innovations, and better perioperative care have dramatically altered survival rates of the sufferers. Comprehensive longitudinal analyses of mortality trends specifically within the United States pediatric population remain limited in the literature.
