 Here is an article you should know about published in Journal of Pediatric Surgery in 2019. An observational study of 12 patients with Hirschsprung's disease found that the histological transition zone can extend up to 13 cm in children with rectosigmoid HD, and up to 22 in those with long segment aganglionosis. Extended resection at least 5 cm beyond the most distal ganglionated biopsy is required to minimize transition zone at Paul Frost Surgery. Check out the link below.
