Do you usually refeed a neonate patient with a mucous fistula? Hi, I'm Cecilia Jigena from Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and I think this is an article that you should know about. This is a systematic review and meta-analysis made in Toronto. And their aim was to assess the effectiveness and complications of mucous fistula refitting. And what did they find? They gathered 16 observational studies with a total of 623 patients, and they found out that neonates with mucous fistula refeeding got fewer days of parenteral nutrition. Lower rates of cholestasis and shorter length of stay. So, it seems that mucous visual refitting is really useful in neonatal patients. Let us know what you think and stay tuned for more articles that you should know about.
