The pediatric Learning Network has been developed in collaboration with Seattle Children's Hospital Washington and Nationwide Children's Hospital, Ohio. So why do we need a pediatric learning network? Let's take an example. You have a complex patient and you want to contact a colleague for some advice, but how are you going to do this? Currently you are likely to contact a colleague by email or phone based on your assumption that they are likely to have seen a similar case previously. But what if they haven't? Who are you going to contact next? But what if you could have a discussion amongst numerous colleagues from multiple disciplines simultaneously, leading to exchange of ideas and years of experience. This will save you time and you are likely to receive a much broader range of experience and advice. The Pediatric Learning Network is a web-based application that allows for rapid exchange of information among a group of healthcare professionals in a secure environment. The pediatric learning network allows you to present cases, post studies, share clinical images and videos, leading to focused discussion. Pediatric Learning Network provides us with the opportunity to connect the world experts, create just in time solutions, and provide the very best care for our patients. In collaboration with slalom Consulting, we have developed the pediatric colorectal learning network as the first phase in this project. A short video demonstration will follow. Hello, welcome to the Pediatric Colorectal Network. I'm Victoria Lane and I'm the moderator for this site. Once you've logged in, you'll be taken to the homepage. This is a secure private forum for pediatric specialists with an interest in pediatric colorectal surgery to post and discuss cases. It provides us with the opportunity to receive just in time education to assist us in providing the very best care for our patients. And I'd like to show you how to use the main features of the site and how to post a case. So if we scroll down, you can see that there's a members directory, a forum topics and comments section, and there's a news item. A little bit further down, there's a members activity area so that you can see who has been er posting cases recently, an area to update your profile. You can message me here if you have any problems or questions, and if you have any feedback for the site, you can leave your comments here and that would be much appreciated. So if we scroll back up to the top. We click on the button that says Create a new Case or Topic. You will be taken to this page. Highlighted in yellow is a reminder not to post any protected health information on the site, and that includes uh patient names and date of births. If you're going to be uploading any clinical images, then they must be non-identifiable and any radiographic images must have the medical record number removed and the name. If you have any questions regarding that, please contact me here. So I'm going to post a case on bladder neck fistula. And I'm going to er choose the forum anorectal malformation male and. I would like some advice. On this case. And I want to be notified when anybody responds to my post. And I'm going to upload a file here. And if I wanted to add a clinical image or any further radiographic images, I can do that here. And then you submit. You'll be then taken to this page and you can see that your er post has appeared. There's an area here where you can er subscribe or unsubscribe to a forum. You need to subscribe if you want to be automatically notified of any posts regarding, for example, male anorect malformations. If we go back to the forum section now, you can see that these forums have already been formed. There's an anorect malformation female and male. Bladder atrophy and cloacal trophy. Bowel management, cloaca, Hirsch Springs, idiopathic constipation and inflammatory bowel disease. If we go to the anorectal malformation male forum. And we go to the omphalocele and anorect malformations in a male. I can see that Doctor Avancino has er posted a case. I've responded. As has Doctor Levitt, and we can see that there are some clinical images included. And some post-operative images as well. So I'll take you back to the home page and we hope to see you soon. If you have any questions regarding this site, please contact Victoria Lane or Jeffrey Avancino.
