In brief

This study examines gastrojejunostomy tube placement outcomes in pediatric patients using national database analysis, focusing on complication rates across different age groups. The research investigates whether infants face higher surgical risks than older children when receiving GJT for post-pyloric feeding access.

  • GJT placement provides post-pyloric feeding access for children with gastric feeding intolerance
  • Infants face higher surgical complication risks compared to older children undergoing GJT placement
  • National database analysis reveals variability in GJT usage patterns and complication rates across pediatric populations
