Reconstructing the anal sphincters to reverse iatrogenic overstretching following a pull-through for Hirschsprung disease. One-year outcomes

This study reports one-year outcomes of a novel anal sphincter reconstruction technique for children with post-pull-through soiling after Hirschsprung disease surgery. Four of six patients without Down syndrome showed significant improvement in bowel control, with objective manometry confirmation of restored sphincter function and enhanced quality of life.
