GER characteristics after fundoplication in children with aerodigestive disorders

Cross-sectional study of 242 pediatric patients with aerodigestive disorders found Nissen fundoplication effectively controls reflux long-term, with median 8.5 reflux episodes per 24 hours and no significant increase over time (1-192 months post-op). Despite functional fundoplications, 58% remained on proton pump inhibitors, suggesting potential overtreatment.
