A Multicenter Evaluation of a Firearm Safety Intervention in the Pediatric Outpatient Setting

Multicenter pilot study (n=543 parents, 9 centers) evaluated a tablet-based firearm safety intervention in pediatric outpatient clinics. 81% of parents found physician counseling appropriate, and 63% of gun-owning parents with unlocked firearms reported the module would change their storage practices, demonstrating feasibility and receptiveness to anticipatory guidance on firearm safety.
