This systematic review and single-center study of 25 pediatric patients evaluates self-expanding esophageal stents for refractory strictures, finding that 90% required further intervention and 38% ultimately needed esophageal replacement. While stents may serve as a bridge to surgery or manage perforations, complete stricture resolution is uncommon.
