Immediate Versus Silo Closure for Gastroschisis: Results of a Large Multicenter Study

This multicenter retrospective study of 566 gastroschisis patients found no significant differences in mortality, sepsis, or time to full feeds between immediate closure and silo placement closed within 5 days. The findings suggest surgical approach can be based on individual patient factors and surgeon preference when closure occurs promptly.
