Therapeutic laparoscopy for pediatric abdominal trauma

Multi-registry study (393 institutional + 11,399 NTDB patients, 2005-2017) evaluating laparoscopic versus open surgery for pediatric abdominal trauma requiring celiotomy. Laparoscopy was used in 16-22% of cases, more commonly in younger patients with hollow viscus injuries, offering a less morbid alternative to open exploration in selected cases.
