Hospitalizations for pediatric dog bite injuries in the United States

Retrospective analysis of 6,323 pediatric dog bite hospitalizations showing children under 11 years are at highest risk, with head/neck injuries predominating in younger children and extremity wounds in older children. Nearly one-third required surgical intervention, highlighting the need for targeted prevention education in elementary and middle school populations before summer months.
