Pediatric ovarian torsion: Follow- up after preservation of ovarian tissue

Retrospective study of 42 ovaries in 39 pediatric patients demonstrates that ovarian preservation via detorsion is safe regardless of ischemia severity, with all preserved ovaries maintaining normal anatomy and folliculogenesis. Serial ultrasonography at 4-6 weeks and 12+ weeks is essential for monitoring ovarian volume normalization and detecting underlying pathology such as teratoma.
