This letter responds to a national propensity score–matched study comparing angioembolization versus surgical repair for pediatric liver trauma using TQIP data. The analysis supports expanding the use of minimally invasive angioembolization as a treatment option for selected pediatric liver injury cases.

  • First national propensity score-matched analysis comparing angioembolization vs surgical repair in pediatric liver trauma using TQIP data
  • Study findings support broader consideration of angioembolization as a treatment option in selected pediatric liver trauma patients
  • Propensity score matching methodology strengthens evidence for angioembolization efficacy in this population
